Spring cleaning is just around the corner, and although it’s admittedly not as fun of an idea as a trip during Spring Break, it is a much needed task on the to do list. It’s also a very important part of being a responsible home owner. There are always things that need to be cleaned up, tuned up, repaired or replaced.
Did you know that spring cleaning came from the time when homes were heated and lit only by wood, gas, kerosene and candles? After heating your home with these items over the long winter months, the inside of the house would be covered with soot and grime. With Spring and warmer weather those heating items could be put away and literally every inch of the house would need to be wiped down and aired out.
Our modern heating systems make the old tradition of spring cleaning obsolete, but that does not mean we should neglect the act of spring cleaning. Spring brings a chance for a fresh start and the opportunity to refresh our homes both inside and out. Even if you’re not up to the task of deep cleaning there are still some seasonal items that are good to get done at this time like cleaning the gutters, storing winter clothing and bedding, getting your A/C & Heating unit serviced before the long, hot summer days, throwing out old food in the fridge and freezer so you can clean and reorganize it, and changing the batteries in your fire and carbon monoxide detectors.
To help you get at least one thing checked off on your spring cleaning list we’re giving away an Air Conditioning Super Tune-Up! That’s an $89 value for FREE! Winner will be drawn on March 31.
